Employment Specialist

Position Highlights:
Seeking a full-time (35 hour per week) Employment Specialist to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide services to young adults in a transitional living program.
Responsibilities:
The Employment Specialist will be responsible for providing targeted employment and education case management; supporting youth in developing goals related to post-secondary education, career development, and obtaining and maintaining a living wage. The Employment Specialist will be responsible for forming and maintaining relationships with local employers, educational programs, and community resources to assist with employment-linkage. The ideal candidate must be able to influence, teach, motivate, and support youth as well as comfortable working in the field, talking with potential employers, and passionate about supporting young adults in reaching their educational and employment goals. On-call and evening hour availability is required as part of the position. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in program implementation utilizing the housing first model for young adults experiencing housing instability.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate must be proficient in written and spoken English. Experience working in career development, job placement, or casework employment. Knowledge of education and employment resources for young adults in Middlesex and Somerset Counties is a plus. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Candidate will be expected to travel within Middlesex and Somerset Counties. Flexible work schedule with some evening hours required.
