Catholic Charities Child Care Program recently launched a Problem Solvers Club in an effort to create a positive peer environment that values constructive problem solving as it relates to resolving conflicts. As part of the Social Emotional Activities component of the aftercare program, the goals of the club are to learn how to manage anger, learn how to solve your own problems and learn how to help others solve their problems.
The pilot club met for 5 weeks at Amsterdam Aftercare in Hillsborough. Through interactive activities, role playing, and discussions the children learned positive ways to manage anger, develop communication skills and how to use the Conflict Resolution model -
Stop, Speak, Listen, Think. On March 13
th, 2018 the first group graduated and was given Membership Certificates. To continue building on their skills, the Amsterdam Problem Solvers will hold a
Stop, Speak, Listen, Think Poster Contest with their entire aftercare program. For more information about Catholic Charities Child Care Programs visit
