After serving pizza to the residents, the team members sat down with each family at the shelter with questionnaires.
The questionnaires contained information about back-to-school supplies needed for their children.
The Community NJ Team is very passionate about their approach, which is a personalized one. The team wants to find out exactly what the children need for school, but also what they like as far as colors and characters for their backpacks.
Mayor of Helmetta, Christopher Slavicek even stopped by to help the residents fill out the forms.
They really want the families to enjoy the rest of the summer and not have to worry about getting school supplies for their children.
The backpacks filled with school supplies should be delivered to Ozanam around August 22nd.
