Warren County, New Jersey is home to many beautiful mountains, lakes, historical buildings, and bridges. Over 100,000 people live in Warren County and according to the 2020 census, Phillipsburg had 15,249 residents. Philipsburg is the most populated municipality in Warren County and unfortunately continues to combat the issue of homelessness. Warren County’s Department of Human Services offers resources to help those in need who are unsheltered or at risk of losing stable housing.
The Philipsburg Food Pantry is open from 10 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Volunteers unpack donated and purchased food, sort and stack food on our pantry shelves, prepare grocery bags for our clients, and break down empty boxes and carry them to trash bins. Volunteers can also provide basic case management services and should have an awareness of local resources or be willing to learn. Mobile Family Success Center, a program run by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen which provides community-based, family-centered services utilizing neighborhood gathering places in Middlesex County, was honored with a proclamation from North Brunswick Mayor Francis M. Womack III and the Township Council during their March 7 virtual meeting.
Since volunteering with Mobile Family Success Center in 2017, Carla has shared her passion and talent in both the culinary and visual arts hosting various events, workshops, and virtual platforms within the community.
Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen’s Mobile Family Success Center (MFSC) held its 2nd Annual Community Baby Shower on Saturday, September 25th, 2021, in collaboration with and sponsored by Healthier Middlesex and WellCare. The event was held at the Edison Senior Center and was themed “What Will Baby Bee.” Health education, community resources and support for new and expectant parents were provided with support from Saint Peter’s University Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Community Child Care Solutions, Parents as Teachers, Central Jersey Health Consortium, Edison Municipal Alliance, Middlesex County Court Employees, Middlesex County Office of Health Services, Nurse-Family Partnership, VNA Health Group, United Way, Safe Kids Middlesex County, and Community Bank/NJ SNAP. As part of the community baby shower, Middlesex County residents received diapers, wipes, clothing, and fresh produce boxes. Parents were welcomed to attend health education workshops. Free car seat inspections were conducted by child passenger safety technicians from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Safe Kids Middlesex County program. All of the families present met with local community providers and received essential resources for new parents. The Mobile Family Success Center (MFSC) of Middlesex County is a community-based, family centered program, utilizing neighborhood gathering places where any community resident can go for family support, information and services. The program currently focuses on bringing services to East Brunswick, Edison, North Brunswick, Piscataway and Sayreville, but events are open to all residents of Middlesex County. Last year Catholic Charities provided more than 160,000 hours of service to our neighbors in the Diocesan counties of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Warren. The Mobile Family Success Center of Middlesex County, operated by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen in collaboration with key Middlesex County stakeholders is hosting their first Military & Veteran Family Day on Saturday, August, 31, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Yelensics Park behind the Edison Senior Center (Rain date: September 7, 2019). Invited guests include Edison Township Mayor Thomas Lankey and Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald Rios.
The Mobile Family Success Center of Middlesex County (MFSC) hosted their first Building Strong Families: Community Baby Shower on Saturday, July 28th from 11-3pm at the Edison Senior Center. The goal of the program was to make contact with first time parents or parents with a child less than one year of age to help them to not only raise a healthy child, but a healthy family.
Mobile Family Success Center brings families together during their first Health Fair Carnival on October 4, 2017 in partnership with Well Care. Approximately 200 families attended the event.
Sponsored by WellCare Health Plans, The Middlesex County Mobile Family Success Center will hold a Health Fair Carnival on October 4 th from 6PM to 8PM at Parsons Elementary School in North Brunswick. Free activities at the fair will include high blood pressure screenings, Zumba and Yoga demonstrations, carnival games, raffles, music, food and giveaways.
