Proud Graduates

Catholic Charities’ YES Early Learning Center (YES ELC) preschool in New Brunswick honored its pre-school graduates at a Moving Up ceremony in June. The now Kindergarten students proudly paraded around the gym displaying their certificates. A total of 335 participants including children and their families were present to celebrate the graduates. These children entered Kindergarten well-prepared. Using Tools of the Mind curriculum, teachers at YES ELC ensure every child becomes a successful learner, and develops the underlying cognitive, social and emotional skills needed to reach his or her highest potential. Teachers focus on helping children become intentional and reflective learners, and create a classroom in which instruction in literacy, mathematics and science reflect children’s learning capacity, rather than age-level expectations.
