The Catholic Charities food pantry is the largest in Warren County, NJ servicing more than 1000 households and the need continues to rise. The Food Pantry is a safety net to individuals and families with limited resources who search for the every day means of sustenance – food. There are no fees for this service.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday – 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Households accept once per month a five to seven day supply of groceries for the preparation of nutritious meals. The food pantry retains an inventory of the recommended dietary nutrients of grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy and protein products. The number of bags received is determined by family size and living situations. Circumstances can warrant additional requests within the established time period. Through a collaborative effort with local senior citizen complexes, commodities are delivered on a quarterly schedule. Case Management is offered as a support to people in need of encouragement, information, referral and advocacy services. Churches, organizations and individuals contribute in-kind donations. Volunteer opportunities are available to assist with various functions of the food pantry.
Those applying for food assistance must live in Warren County with earnings not more than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. Documentation required at the initial interview includes proof of identification, residency and source of income for all members of the household. These records are updated on a yearly basis unless a change occurs within the designated time period. Appointments are not necessary as aid is given on a walk-in basis. The location of the food pantry is within the boundary of a bus route.
